Felice Brand Story
I wanted to create a place that truly
excites me from the heart.
I wanted to create a place that truly
excites me from the heart.
That feeling marked the beginning of Felice.
Fujita Pottery has long operated as a trading company specializing in professional tableware. However, through our daily work, we gradually felt a stronger desire to convey the appeal of not only tableware, but also lifestyle goods and vessels that gently accompany everyday living—directly to our customers.
Around that time, the Mino ware district began an initiative to build on the popularity of the roadside station Shino・Oribe, revitalizing the entire area as Oribe Hills. As companies started opening distinctive shops on their own premises, we too fulfilled a long-held dream and opened our retail store Felice in 2009.
Our concept was simple:
not just a shop that sells tableware, but a place that communicates the joy of everyday living.
Delivering moments of enjoyment through tableware—this guiding principle has never wavered.
Felice began as a small store partitioned from a warehouse. In 2016, with the appointment of a new president, the store was renewed and expanded into an experiential space featuring a kitchen studio. It now serves as a venue for cooking and bread-making classes, as well as a photography studio.
Being able to actually plate food and use the tableware is one of Felice’s most valued features—it allows customers to truly feel the appeal of each piece.
When planning tableware, what we value most is the balance between excitement and ease of use. We design each piece not only for its beauty, but also with careful thought about how it will naturally fit into everyday dining scenes.
Having been born and raised in Toki, a town of ceramics, pottery and this company are part of my very identity. And my deep affection for the number “8,” derived from our trade name Maruhachi, still lives on playfully throughout Felice.
Tableware has the power to enrich daily life.
That is why we will continue to deliver pieces that both spark joy and bring comfort to everyday living.

八華
~HACHIKA~
As the successors of the trade name “Maruhachi,” we have long held the desire to one day express the symbol of “8” through the form of tableware.
When speaking of octagonal tableware, one inevitably thinks of the octagonal style—produced only for a very limited period and now cherished as rare antiques. Inspired by its timeless beauty and with deep respect for forms passed down through generations, we collaborated with a local kiln in Toki City to create Hachika.
The number eight symbolizes good fortune and growth. To reflect the beauty of this form in food presentation, we incorporated the shapes and sizes of dishes used in kaiseki cuisine—such as appetizer plates, mukōzuke, small bowls, and soy dishes—resulting in a lineup that harmonizes with the Japanese dining style of ichiju-sansai.
Elegant curves were added to the rims to create a feminine silhouette, while the color palette reflects a refined, confident image of women who wish to be “cool and composed.”
This series embodies Felice’s cherished underlying theme: “cool yet charming.”
Available in three colors: Ivory, Black, and Rock Gray.
